| Historical building in Montevideo, Uruguay, the Solis Theatre stands at the edge of the Plaza Independencia. It was named for Juan DÃÂaz de SolÃÂs, the Spanish navigator who sailed up the River Plate in 1516 and in so doing was the first European to set foot in what is now Uruguay. |
