| Tarkeghyang sits on the base of Ama Yangri peak at 2600m, along the Helambu Trekking Circuit. It is among the largest and oldest cultural villages inhabited by the Hyolmo Yolmo community, a culturally rich ethnic group in the Langtang conservation area. It also holds great religious significance for Tibetan Buddhists who visit the nearby Ama Yangri Peak on pilgrimages. Located at the epicenter of Nepal's 2015 earthquake, the village was devastated in its aftermath and is gradually being rebuilt. |
