Monte Civetta 3,220 m is a prominent and major mountain of the Dolomites, in the Province of Belluno in northern Italy. Its north-west face can be viewed from the Taibon Agordino valley, and is classed as one of the symbols of the Dolomites. On the north-west side it is characterized by an impressive vertical wall with a gradient of more than 1000 meters and a length of about 4 km, between the `top Su Alto` and the `Torre Coldai`. In the mountaineering environment is called `the wall of the walls`, a route of high alpine difficulty. At 200 meters from the summit, on the more peaceful Zoldo side, stands the small Torrani refuge. To the north of the group, near Mount Coldai is the Sonino al Coldai Refuge, in the center, on the alleghese side is the Tissi refuge while at the other end is located the Vazzoler refuge.
