The Štefánik Observatory in Prague is the observatory on the Petřín Hill intended for the general public and primarily used to popularize astronomy. It was built and operated by the Czech Astronomical Society in 1928 and underwent a major reconstruction in the 1970s. Since 1979 the observatory has been a part of the Observatory and Planetarium of the Capital City of Prague. m. Prague in addition to the observatory and planetarium in Prague`s Stromovka park, there is also the observatory in Ďáblice and a joint workplace with the HaP in České Budějovice - Kopernik`s dome at the Kleť observatory.
