| Spoleto, the Ancient Longobard Church of San Salvatore, inside view. Spoletos San Salvatore Church is one of the Longobard monuments included in Longobards in Italy, Places of the Power, UNESCO World Heritage site. The apse is decorated with fresco fragments of various dates, including a rare 8th century fresco of a cross with gems hanging from the arms in a niche on the east wall. The two square chapels flanking the the apse also contain frescoes, including the Holy Father and Madonna and Saints (1478) of the Benozzo Gozzoli school |
