| These houses - called London Houses - in Ny-Ãâ¦lesund, Spitsbergen/Norway, were built in 1911/12 by the Northern Exploration Company, London. Nowadays scientists live in these buildings; a weather station in the foreground, a cruise ship in the background. The photo was taken in July at 4ð C/39ðF.
