These little insects are amazing to see and this year is my first encounter with them. This is the snowberry clearwing which is sometimes called a hummingbird moth or a flying lobster. I really love the green patch of fur it has on the top of his head. The black stripes almost make it look like a bee. I love the long black antennas on his head and his see through wings. This little guy was visiting a bee balm flower in the middle of a field to gather nectar and help pollinate. This picture was taken in the East Coventry township nature preserve close to Pottstown in Pennsylvania.
