The monument is a bronze equestrian statue of Simón Bolívar in describing horse. The statue is located on the course the Queen, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, at the mouth of the Pont Alexandre III. The statue is the fourth copy of the work of French sculptor Emmanuel Frémiet, commissioned in the early twentieth century by the city of Bogota, Colombia. A copy is available in 1930 by the Latin republics during the centenary of the death of Simon Bolivar America. Two other copies are built in Barranquilla in Colombia and La Paz in Bolivia.
