We tend to think of trees as good ways to 'Block strong winds' and 'Soaking up lots of excess water',as many trees can live hundreds of years, and some can even live thousands of years. But given a good combination of enough rains and winds, almost anything can be knocked down. So during a recent period of continuous rains causing absolute saturation of the park ground,it did not take too much wind to completely uproot this tree in Washington Square in the North Beach section of San Francisco. As witnessed 23 March 2023.
