The Sea Shepherd ship Steve Irwin at MacQuarie Dock in Hobart on Saturday 21st February, when 2,000 people visited and toured the ship. The Steve Irwin has just returned from its Antarctic campaign where it sustained damage after a confrontation with a Japanese whaler. The ship will remain in Hobart for a month before moving to Melbourne for repairs. Its next campaign is in the Galapagos Islands where they will pull up fishing nets. On the 3rd March a bomb threat occurred on the Steve Irwin and captain Paul Watson noted on the Sea Shepherd website: This is not the first time we have received a bomb threat nor will it be the last. Usually threats of a bomb mean there is no bomb, but despite this all threats should be taken seriously. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has many enemies because this planet and the oceans have many destroyers.
