There are multiple types of sushi including sashimi, nigiri, and maki. Sashimi is only the meat without other ingredients such as vegetables, seaweed, or rice. Common meats for nigiri include tuna, salmon, and shrimp. Maki is rolled sushi and is usually wrapped in seaweed and rice. Sometimes the rice is around the seaweed. A California roll is a common type of maki sushi.
