Despite being a San Francisco, famed cartoonist of wild machines, Rube Goldberg has long been associated with New York City, as that is where he spent most of his professional carrier.
After Goldberg`s father Max was widowed, Ruben had this building built for himself and his father in Hayes Valley. The father and son had the upstairs two apartments, with the downstairs left as rental units, to bring in steady income.
As Rube went back and forth between New York and San Francisco, he would always have his own place to stay, now a San Francisco landmark.
As seen November 2021.
