Marienburg Castle is a castle near the town of Pattensen in Lower Saxony. The building rises on the hill Marienberg above the river Leine. The castle was built between 1857 and 1867 by King George V of Hanover as a gift to his wife Maria. The family used it as a hunting lodge and summer residence.
