The Building of the Italian Civilization, known also as Building of the Civilization of the Job or simply Square Colosseum is one of the symbols of the EUR, district in Rome, and it is considered as the architectural icon of the Nine hundred Roman and exemplary model of the monumentalitÃÂ of the district. It is that neoclassicismos simplified of Marcello Piacentini, that is the coordinator of the errand for E42, that it is imposed on the Italian Rationalism of Joseph Pagano, Adalberto Libera and Giovanni Michelucci, also between the planners of the new district. Planned by the architects Giovanni Guerrini, Ernesto Bruno You Padula and Mario Romano, the building was built between 1938 and 1943 (you/he/she was inaugurated November 30 th 1940 despite the jobs they were still in progress). Is dealt with an imposing construction: the covered surface is of 8.400 m2, for a cubatura 205.000 m3 and a height of 50 meters (68 with the plinth).
