Aphantopus hyperantus, is a butterfly of the Satyrinae subfamily. It is an unobtrusive brown butterfly. The top of the wings is dark brown. The underside of the wings is light brown with yellow-rimmed eye spots with a white dot in the center. There are three eye spots on the front wing and five on the rear wing. The butterfly is common in the dunes and on sandy soils.
