| The meltwaters flow onwards to the valley and turn into the Reichenbach brook. The brooks seven-tiered waterfall has become world-famous, thanks to the writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The protagonist of one of his novels, Sherlock Holmes, staged his own death on the observation platform above the highest of the seven tiers of the waterfall - the 120 meter high tier. |
