Kirovsky district is an administrative and territorial unit in the south-west of St. Petersburg. Named after SM Kirov. Has access to the shore of the Neva Bay of the Gulf of Finland. In the north, the border with the Admiralteysky District passes along the Ekateringofka River and Stacek Square, in the east - with the Moscow Region - along the railway line to Lomonosov and Gatchina, and in the south - to the Krasnoselsky District - along the Marshal Zhukov Avenue and the Krasnenka River. The district includes microdistricts: the Narva Outpost, Avtovo, Dachnoe, Ulyanka and the eastern Ligovo, as well as the islands of the Neva Bay - Gutuevsky, Kanonersky and Bely. Before the revolution, only the north and north-west of the modern territory of the district north of the Tarakanovka river were part of the city line, they were part of the Narva part. The land to the south of Tarakanovka was a suburban Petergofsky site. Kirov region ranks 14th out of 18 districts of St. Petersburg in terms of quality of life
