The red-billed gull, commonly known as the `water pigeon`, is similar in shape and color to the pigeons. It has a body length of 37-43 cm, a wingspan of 94-105 cm, a body weight of 225-350 g and a life expectancy of 32 years. The mouth and feet are red, most of the body`s feathers are white, and the tail feathers are black. Feet and toes are reddish, turning orange to yellow in winter; claws black. The number of red-billed gulls is large, and they are clustered and can be seen in many coastal ports and lakes in the world. Generally living in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and bays. The staple foods are fish, shrimp, insects, aquatic plants and food residues discarded by humans.
