Railroad Depot in Salisbury, North Carolina, built in 1907, was designed by Frank Milburn and is an example of Spanish mission-style architecture. In the heyday of rail travel depot featured a large waiting area and things like a lady’s parlor, and a smoking room just for men. As rail travel declined the depot fell into disarray in 1975 it was placed on a historic register, the building was restored in 1993 and is used today for offices Amtrak stops there, and it is used for public events and private events such as weddings and large parties.
