| The two most important pyramids of Dahshurââ¬â¢s necropolis are the ââ¬ÅRed Pyramidââ¬Â and the ââ¬ÅBent Pyramidââ¬Â or ââ¬ÅSouthern Shining Pyramid.ââ¬Â The Bent Pyramid was built of locally quarried limestone and had several design flaws which created a bend halfway up the pyramid. The Red Pyramid gets its name from the red shade of the stone. It was the first smooth-sided pyramid standing 101 meters tall and is considered the first ââ¬Årealââ¬Â pyramid. |
