The family farm started changing in the early ’60s, when big farms started buying out small farms for the sheer reason of feeding as many people as possible. What we’re now seeing is a response to that; we’ve lost that relationship with our food producers and now want to go back to where people in the community can get to know farmers and their techniques and feel comfortable that their food is being produced in a sustainable, environmentally friendly and financially viable way.
