Potala Palace (English transliteration: the Potala Palace), commonly known as Mount Putuo, stands in the northwest of Red Hill in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, is a large-scale castle buildings. Was originally built by Songtsen Gampo married Princess Wencheng, the reconstruction of the 17th century, the Potala Palace to become the Winter Palace residence of the Dalai Lama, Tibet's theocratic rule center.
