In a context of creative renewal, the city of Charleroi commissioned Atelier Jean Nouvel, allied to firm MDW Architecture, extending its police station. Based in the heart of the city, the building born in 2014 is part of the Charleroi Danses complex (caserne Defeld), near a neighborhood with historic red brick facades. The project is organized around an elliptical tower 75 meters high, which comes contrast gently with the former stables of the gendarmerie, whose two brick buildings are the police hotel wings.
