Flowering walnut has photographed by me in 24th of April, 2019, in the city. Walnut Juglans regia, family Juglandaceae. The origin of the tree is Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Iran. This plant was known about 8000 years ago. The walnut is cultivated in countries with mild climate. Cold-resistant kinds have been raised for the nothern regions. The plant doesn`t season severe frosts. Blossoming lasts about 15 days from the end of April till the beginning of May. Leaves sprout simultaneously with blossoms. There are two aspects of small blossoms which have light greenish tint. Pollen suppliers look like hanging catkins, they are tigtly collected in the axils of the leaves. Pistillates are located in the tops of one-year sprouts one by one or in groups of two-three flowers. Blossoms are pollinated with wind and other walnut trees 1 km away. The nuts form as a result of pollination.
