| Pingyao County, located in Pingyao County, central Shanxi Province, was founded in the Western Zhou Dynasty during the Xuan Wang period (827 BC to 782 BC). Pingyao, Shanxi, is known as one of the "four most well preserved ancient cities" and one of the only two ancient cities in China to declare the world cultural heritage in the whole ancient city. |
