Pinecones are used for many different crafts, Christmas decorations & potpourris`. They small stack fell from the pine tree during a strong wind gust. Normally it takes two years for a pine cone to fully mature and fall from the tree. They must be gathered soon as they make great food for squirrels and other small critters. Before using for any craft they should be washed and baked to kill any potential insects and pests. There are many varieties of pine trees. Pinecones come in all shapes and sizes. They are slow growing trees.
