| The Pigeon Point Light Station Lighthouse began operating in November of 1872, and at 116 feet, is one of the tallest lighthouses in the United States. Lighthouses are very popular tourist attractions in the United States and around the world. While the original light has been replaced, the lighthouse is still in active use by the United States Coast Guard today as a navigational aid. |
