| This pelawan tree is found in the forests of Bangka and Belitung Islands {Indonesia}.It produces red wood which is used for building materials, shipbuilding materials, stakes for pepper plantations and firewood. The pelawan tree is used as a home for a colony of wild bees (Apis dorsata) which suck the tree's flower pollen. The honey produced by these wild bees has a bitter taste. |
