Street with Christmas decorations in Kapana literal translation: “The Trap” district in Plovdiv city, Bulgaria. The district emerged as a center for craftsmen 5 centuries ago. Nowadays you will not find traditional craftsmen here but contemporary creative entrepreneurs. The name of the district itself is inspired by the many tangled little streets. Soon all of the streets in the district will be pedestrian. The beautiful colorful buildings are filled with tiny stores, cafes, restaurants, galleries, studios and workshops. There are many events that take place in this district with social, economic and cultural effect for the city. Plovdiv is chosen for European Capital of Culture for 2019. Photo taken early in the morning before sunrise.
