Also known as the Taktsang Palphug Monastery, Tiger`s Nest is a sacred Vajrayana Himalayan Buddhist site located 10km to the north of Paro and hangs on a precarious cliff at 3,120m above sea-level, and about 900m above the Paro valley. The monastery is built around the `Taktsang Senge Samdup` cave, where custom holds that Buddhist master Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava meditated in the 8th century.
