| After 2000 years, this is still the largest unsupported concrete dome in the world, and the entire building is the best preserved, fully intact structure from ancient Rome. The 'oculus' allows sunlight to stream in and illuminate the interior, and that is captured here with no filters or digital enhancements. This is the 2nd of 2 images taken that same day (October 2017) This 2nd image includes people at the bottom of the photo, and that gives some perspective to the buildings size. |
