The Orion Nebula, also known as Messier 42 (M42), is a bright diffuse nebula located in the constellation of Orion, approximately 1,344 light-years away from Earth. It's a stellar nursery where new stars are forming and is one of the brightest and most well-known nebulae, visible to the naked eye in the night sky. The Orion Nebula is also part of the larger Orion Molecular Cloud Complex, a vast region of star formation. |
