Gardening enthusiasts and professional horticulturalists have long bred daylily species for their attractive flowers that come in a wide variety of colors. The name Hemerocallis comes from the Greek words hÃâmera `day` and kalos `beautiful`. Daylilies are perennial plants. The flowers of most species open in early morning and wither during the following night, possibly replaced by another one the next day. |
