| Shantadurga Temple is located at foothill of Kavelam village 30km from Panaji in Ponda Taluka, Goa. The temple is dedicated to Shantadurga, goddess who mediates between Vishnu and Shiva. Purana talks of battle between Shiva and Vishnu. The battle is so fierce that Lord Brahma prayed Paravati to intervene which she did in the form of Shantadurga. Shantadurga placed Vishnu on her right hand and Shiva on her left hand and settle the fight. |
