Usually red ducks live in pairs or small groups, much less often - in a large flock. But at the time of molting and wintering, they can gather in large groups on lakes or slow rivers. In captivity, these birds are usually aggressive and uncommunicative, it is better to keep them in pairs or disperse over a very large area. Ogars can be kept with ducks of other species, but in this case they can be very aggressive during the nesting period.
