Pictured is the north side and entrance of the Step Pyramid of Djoser in Egypt, viewed from the north court. The entrance was built during the reign of Djoser. The pyramid was built in the 27th century BC for the burial of Pharaoh Djoser. Its architect was Imhotep, chancellor of the pharaoh and high priest of the god Ra. It is part of an archaeological site in the Saqqara necropolis and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
