The noni plant (Morinda citrifolia), also known as Indian mulberry, is a tropical shrub or small tree widely recognized for its medicinal properties and pungent-smelling fruit. It grows up to 10 meters tall, with glossy green leaves and white flowers, thriving in coastal and humid regions. Noni is highly valued in traditional medicine, where its fruit, leaves, and roots are used to support digestion, boost immunity, and reduce inflammation. Known by various names, it is called mengkudu in Indonesia and Malaysia, noni in Hawaii, nonu in Samoa, and apatot in the Philippines.
