Eurasian Stone-curlew Burhinus oedicnemus. It is a timid light brown ground bird. It has an average length of 40-44 cm, a weight of 370-450 gr, and a wingspan of 77-85 cm. It has a life span of 16-17 years. It usually spreads in the steppe fields, stony gravel and short vegetation around wetlands. It generally feeds on mollusks, insects, worms, crabs and earthworms. It also consumes slugs, frogs and mice. It usually hunts by walking quickly with its long legs without needing to fly. When something requires it to fly, it first runs and accelerates and then flies. It has a walking speed that even humans cannot keep up with. In fact, it is the fastest walker among birds. It does not fly unless it is absolutely necessary. When it realizes that it is seen, it immediately bends its knees and sits down. Its large eyes are the biggest evidence that it is a night hunter. Its behavior of protecting the nest near the nest is quite aggressive.
