| The mountain chain you see on my picture is Piatra Craiului , a part of Southern Carpathians. It's a very interesting solid limestone chain of some 25 km in lenght, the highest point (La Om) is 2382 m asl. Here you chain see the S-E faces of. this mountain. The chain is isolated from Fagaras Mountains, the highest part of southern Carpathians and there are many endemic plants and animals. Also you can find there the big predators: brown bears, lynxes, and wolves, which have extinct in most European countries. Now the mountain are protected - is one of the new Romanian National Park |
