This is a John Deere T660 Combine harvester at work. The machine can harvest upto 10.7m width. The grain tank holds 11000L. The machine has 371 Horse Power. Fascinating, is watching the combine work across a slope, the cutting unit adjusts itself automatically to allow for the slope so that the cut is always even. The resulting straw is ejected either as a swath and is then baled, or as is the case in this photo, it goes through the straw chopper and is ploughed in. The machine shown measures exactly via GPS the amount of work done . The GPS antenne can be seen in the middle of the drivers cabin. The machine costs more than your average house, depending on where you buy.
