Dining room in Mei-ling Palace. The palace is named after Soong Mei-ling 1898-2003, First Lady of the Republic of China. It was residence of President of Republic of China Chiang Kai-shek and his wife Soong Mei-ling. Built in 1934, it is a combination of classical Chinese architecture and modern western interior decoration. Chiang and Soong met many politicians in this villa. Soong played a prominent role in the politics and was the sister-in-law of Sun Yat-sen, founder of the Republic of China. Photo taken in April, 2018.
