The World War II era Guardhouse and barbed wire fence were reconstructed at the Manzanar Internment Camp National Historic Site to commemorate the internment of Japanese Americans in the desert environment of Owens Valley east of the Sierra Nevada after the Pearl Harbor attack, Inyo County, California, USA.
