The Cathedral of Saint Peter in Mantua, Lombardy (northern Italy), goes back to the Early Christian era. Partially destroyed by fire in 894 and in the 16th century, it was rebuilt each time. The current façade is from 1756-1761, done in Carrara marble. The building contains architectural styles of the Roman, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods.
