The Royal Gate of Noto (Porta Reale) is a large triumphal arch that marks the beginning of Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the main street of the city. It is also known as Porta Ferdinandea. It was built in honor of King Ferdinand of Borbone and inaugurated on October 5, 1838, on the occasion of the monarch’s visit to Noto.
