Luxor is a city on the Nile with ca. 150,000 inhabitants, one of the most important archaeological discoveries from the period of ancient Egypt can be found here. The temple on the quay of the Nile is famous for its bas-reliefs. It was built by the pharaohs Amenhotep III and Ramses II, in honor of the gods Amon, Mut, and Khons.
