Image shows an extreme low tide and surf grass (Phyllospadix sp.) at Laguna Beach. California. The area is south of the Main Beach at a site called Sleepy Hollow near Cleo Street. The water level in this area, at normal high tides, is about 5 feet above the rocks. More importantly is the green surf grass which is an important marine plant that is an indicator of a healthy, marine ecosystem. |
