At the seaside near the french Cap Baou Tailla, quarries of limestone shell soft pink rock, were exploited for the construction of monuments in Marseille from the Greek Antiquity till the nineteenth. On the corner of the small church in the center of the village of La Couronne you can see the stones with the different signatures signs and initials engraved by the carriers.
