Cluj-Napoca is a municipality located in the central-north-western part of Romania, in the center of Transylvania and in the north-west of the Transylvanian Plateau. The seat of Cluj County, as well as the historical capital of Transylvania, the city is surrounded by the Cluj and Feleacului Hills and is located on the middle course of the Some?ul Mic river. The name of Cluj was mentioned for the first time in 1275. Later it was attested in documents and in the Latin variant Claudiopolis.
