The Japanese Lantern – Abutilon megapotamicum is a shrub that belongs to the Malvaceae family, native to Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul), perennial, vigorous, fast-growing, 2 to 3 meters tall. Solitary flowers, axillary, long-pedunculated, with yellow petals and red chalice, pendant, lantern or bell-shaped. They appear almost all year round, with more intensity in spring.
