| Ixora chinensis or commony called as Chinese ixora (scientific name: Ixora chinensis) is a tropical evergreen shrub in the family Rubiaceae native to southern China to Malaysia. A red-orange colored carved crown has four tears, rounded four-valve flowers are brought together in 20-30 rings to make a semispherical bloom in a double-inflorescence inflorescence.The genus name "Ixora" is Sanskrit word "Iswara" and "Shiva god". The seed name "chinensis" represents "Origin of China" of origin. |
